Four photos posted a while back on Flickr on December 14s past, 2007, 2009, and 2010 (again, one apparently mislabeled, but I'll take it):

Christmas shopping: I'm heading to LA tomorrow to see my family, and it occurred to me that some Christmas presents might be in order. Borders was my first choice, but we parked near Target, and David suggested silk flowers for my mom. They didn't have anything like that, but they did have a jingle-bell tree that I think my mom—who has Alzheimer's and mostly sleeps—might get some pleasure out of. A camisole for my niece. And then I got to indulge my Borders habit (I only bought one book for myself) and finished off my list. Thank goodness I have a very small family....

On the road: On highway 46, between Paso Robles (101) and Lost Hills (5), almond orchards on one side and nothing on the other, here I was following an RV going just above the speed limit. I decided to enjoy the view....

Skyline: Went for a lovely late-afternoon walk with David on our semi-regular five-mile circuit. We were hoping for the sound or sight of owls, but alas. Nevertheless, it was beautiful. Including the last steps toward home in the dark.

A step in the right direction: That would be, out of bed. Fever's gone and I feel like having a cup of coffee, rather than tea--always a good sign. Not that I'm not still sick. But at least I can get some reading and some work done. And Prime Suspect, part 1, is due from Netflix today, so I know what I'll be doing this evening : )
