I ran across the amazing creations of the Filipino artist Patrick Emilson Cabral on FB—via a friend who posts eclectic stuff. Here are some of his works, made entirely from cut paper. (Click on the images to seem them larger.)
One of Cabral's projects focused on endangered species. As he said, “My art can help educate the younger generation about the plight of these species. I want everyone to go beyond social media and contribute their time and presence to causes that are important to them.”
Recently, he's been working in color. The following pieces were inspired by the Dinagyang Festival, held annually since 1967 on the fourth Sunday of January in Ilioilo City, Philippines.
Cabral has an active Instagram site, so if you're interested in following him, go there.
And here's a video about him:
I find his work amazing. It's obsessive art in the best possible way.
